this is what we did yesterday in class:
- We read some of our compositions aloud
- We checked page 255
SINGULAR: What is it? It's a (coin, watch....) It's an (umbrella)/ It's a (purse)
PLURAL: What are they? They're (glasses, scissors...)
- We did exercise 2 a on page 25
- I explained the grammar on page 230 (2A singular and plural nouns)
- You completed the exercises 2A a and b on page 231
- I explained the pronuntiation of the final -s or -es (exercises 2 c and d) on page 25
Remember: the final -s or -es after nouns ending in ce, ch, ge, se, sh, ss, and x : /iz/, e.g. glasses, purses, watches
- We did an exercise to work with the pronunciation of the plural
