This is what we did yesterday:
- we did two listening exercises
You can do one of them here: https://www.learnenglish.de/dictation/edictationtheuk.html#check
- we checked our homework: common verb phrases (page 239)
You can revise common verb phrases clicking here
- We did exercises 1 and 2 on page 38
Remember that we use the present simple for things that are generally true or are habits.
In the affirmative
I work
you work
He/she/it works
We work
You work
They work
Add -s or -es (same rules as for regular plurals) for he/she/it
Study: studies (consonant + y: ies) but play: plays (vowel+y)
finish: finishes
watch: watches
kiss: kisses
BE CAREFUL WITH THE FOLLOWING:
Go: goes
Have: has
do: does
In the negative we use DON´T or DOESN´T.
Do is a verb (do housework, do homework, do exercise) but also an AUXILIARY. We use DON´T or DOESN´T to make the negative sentences in the present simple
I don´t work
you don´t work
he/she/it doesn´t work
I don´t do housework/He doesn't do housework
etc
HOMEWORK:
